i missed the bus today

The seismic morning ritual rush
to miss one sighing express bus
by milliseconds no more I swear,
this is the commuter’s pathetic curse.

So this must be how Trojans groaned
defeated in the battle of Troy
as nameless faceless fighters swarm
where urban life is most forlorn.

Crumpled ticket tumbleweed trails
now greets the metal people-mover
scuffling shuffling shoving soldiers
hi yeah, morning okay, fucking go!!

can you feel my absence?

reach out and touch the
space
I used to occupy beside you

wrap your longing arms around the
emptiness
in your bedsheets

i wonder if my footsteps left
imprints
on the itch of your carpeted floor

do your sad eyes try to focus on my
silhouette
no longer there in the dark?

i wish for you to
breathe
better now that we don’t share oxygen

inhale and you will no longer
take
parts
of
me
with
you.
